Last night I was heading out to enjoy a fine selection of the programming at San Francisco Sketchfest and had occasion to walk past Cafe Sophie on 16th Street. You may know this location as the flower shop in The Room, or maybe you don't even know that much and you simply know it from that amazing clip your friends keep referencing on social media:
Well, great news (unless you're the proprietor of Cafe Sophie, I guess)! The space is now up for lease, meaning that potentially the right tenant could (dare we say it?) open a pug-themed flower shop. The bad news, of course, is that this location, directly in the Venn diagram overlap of the explosive gentrification of the Mission and the explosive gentrification of the Castro, will undoubtedly set you back well over $40/square foot in rent. If you're interested (and loaded), contact the stuffed shirts over at Cushman & Wakefield.
